Authority magazine features Randi Boyette in the Power Women series
Authority Magazine, a publication devoted primarily to sharing inspiring stories and interviews with powerful people in their industries, captures the drive, passion, resilience, perseverance, dedication and relentless drive of the founder and CEO of Spark Medical Marketing , Randi Boyette. Being a powerful woman in business is no easy task, but Boyette is not only challenging the status quo, but redefining traditional expectations of what society sees as appropriate roles for women, while succeeding with determination and a positive attitude.
“Being an entrepreneur can be tough, especially in the beginning. You’re the only one pushing yourself through good days and bad, so motivating yourself every day is key,” Boyette said. “No matter how little sleep I’ve had, as we work many late nights, I wake up motivated that our entire team is counting on me to do what I’m doing to keep the business alive.”
The insightful questions and answers between the interviewer Ming Zhao and Boyette also dives into chapters of both challenge and resilience. Boyette shares the inspiration behind starting her own business, how she stays motivated, and her top five things to thrive and succeed as a powerful woman. In the interview, Boyette shares experiences from his personal life and professional leadership journey.
“While developing Spark, many different opportunities came to me, but in many directions. At first I wanted to start a social media business, then a new opportunity arose, focused on websites. Wasn’t a website expert at the time, but I said “yes” and made it happen. Then the business grew into something big. When you want something so bad, you’ll do anything and go anywhere to get there. Opportunities don’t always come in perfect packages; you have to step out of your comfort zone,” Boyette said.
When asked for her opinion on the biggest challenges that female leaders face that their male counterparts don’t usually face, Boyette replied: “The biggest challenge women leaders face is having to prove themselves twice as hard for half the credit.”
Despite all the obstacles or challenges, Boyette embodies a woman in power. “Many doors were slammed in my face as Spark grew up and I thought that was the biggest curse at the time, but I carried on no matter how many times I was told ‘no. “, I persevered.”
