Billionaire magazine, a quarterly print magazine for high net worth influencers and executives, recently selected CanopyMeg Global Forestry Champion Dr Meg Lowman, Executive Director of the Sarasota-based TREE Foundation for an article in its online publication. In the June 19 article titled “The Scientist Who Discovered ‘The Eighth Continent’,” Dr. Lowman discusses the tipping point for Earth’s forests, whether or not humans will continue their love affair with nature. once the coronavirus pandemic subsides, and reveals its latest commitment to saving the world’s forests: Mission Green.

Dr. Margaret Lowman, known worldwide as Canopy Meg for her efforts to save the world’s forests, is the visionary behind the creation of the Canopy Walkway in Myakka River State Park in Florida. She is a global scientist and executive director of the Sarasota-based TREE Foundation, an international non-profit organization dedicated to the research, exploration, education, and conservation of trees and forests. A pioneer in engaging women in science, Dr. Lowman has made it a priority in her career to encourage women’s interest in STEM.
