Fans believe Sandman will be one of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ villains

Empire Magazine recently ran the covers for its October issue, and they’re all about Spider-Man: No Path Home. One of the covers features Spider-Man in his costume, with Doctor Octopus’ arms and Green Goblin’s orb in the background. The second cover, however, is where devoted fans spotted something that confirms Sandman is in the movie. Sandman’s arm is seen clenching his fist and holding him in the air.

Fans took to Twitter to speculate whether or not this image confirms that Sandman is in. Spider-Man: No Path Home. One person wrote: “I know we love to joke, but this Empire cover really confirmed Sandman.”

Another fan tweeted jokingly: “‘There’s no way Sandman is really in the movie.'”

Will Sandman be one of the villains Peter faces?

The powers behind Spider-Man: No Path Home confirmed that Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and Electro will all be in the movie. Alfred Molina will play Doctor Octopus, the original interpreter of the character of Spider-man 2. And Jamie Foxx will play Electro, who played the character in The Incredible Spider-Man 2. An unknown actor will play Green Goblin.

So Peter will have his hands full with all these bad guys. But will Sandman be one of them? In the movie trailer, some fans believed they spotted Sandman in a blink and miss scene. But nothing was confirmed until the Empire Magazine cover was published.

We last saw Sandman, aka Flint Marko, in Spider-Man 3, performed by Thomas Haden Church. Marko was a thief trying to provide for his sick wife and daughter. It is revealed in the movie that Marko killed Uncle Ben. In the end, however, Peter forgives Marko and lets him escape. So maybe Sandman won’t be a villain in Spider-Man: No Path Home. But it might be cooler if he was part of the Sinister Six, which is another popular fan theory.
