Spennymoor Town magazine presents Dale Eve

Spennymoor Town FC recently put Dale Eve in the spotlight, featuring him on the cover of his team’s magazine, along with a multi-page article featuring an in-depth interview with the talented Bermuda goalkeeper.

The Spennymoor Town FC website said: “The trip to Pure Stadium at that point was a long one for the Moors number one. The one that started at 3,385 miles on an island in the North Atlantic Ocean. There is more than it looks with Bermuda, with 181 islands and nine parishes recreating a country that has the unfortunate trait of being in the path of Hurricane Alley.

“To say that Eve grew up in a small community would be an understatement, but the country has natural beauty with golden beaches, picturesque palm trees and camera-worthy sunsets.

“Football and cricket dominate Bermuda’s sporting landscape, in large part due to the British influence on the island. Cricket even has its own two-day holiday cup match where east and west face off. To the east, St. George’s Cricket Club in pale blue and dark blue, and to the west, Somerset Cricket Club in red and navy blue.

After several periods and unsuccessful tries at a number of lower league clubs, a golden chance was about to present itself to Eve after Bermuda made history by qualifying for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019 .

“It made the island nation the smallest nation outside of Oceania to ever compete in a senior men’s Confederation Championship. With Iceland’s population of less than a fifth and an area smaller than Manhattan, the odds were against Kyle Lightbourne’s side.
